Internal protection for the pipes

Ductile pipes are used for conveying a wide variety of media,
untreated water, drinking water, sewage. Such liquids can affect the
nature of the pipeline in very many aggressive ways.
Cement mortar linings conform with ISO 4179/EN 545.

External protection for the pipes Pipes buried in soil are exposed to soil aggression. So a variety of external protection measures are available to match various type of aggression. The following coatings, paints sheaths, and wrappings have long proven themselves in practice:
1. Bitumen coating. 2. Zinc coating
Pipes are
coated externally by pure metallic zinc at a rate of 130/g/m2
according to the International standard or 200g/m2 as per
customer standard request. .

One of the particular features of the external zinc coating is its ability to restore the continuity of the protective layer where small areas of local damage exist. The Zn++ ions migrate through the pore sealer to plug the damage and then convert into stable, insoluble zinc corrosion products |
